Eliminate red and black staining, as well as metallic tastes & with the birm filter for Iron, & Manganese! Is a common problem in homes today. It causes red staining on fixtures, as well as turning clothes and sometimes even your hair a reddish orange color. Is sometimes present in water with iron, creating a slimy build up in standing water (such as your toilet tank) and can smell like rotting vegetation. Is most often seen as a black slimy substance that builds in standing water, and may impart a metallic taste to the water. Of these problems can be eliminated with the Birm.

By combining the oxygen in the water with the iron and manganese the contaminates become easy for the media to trap and remove from the water. Every couple of days the system must backwash itself to remove the accumulated iron & manganese.

This is done automatically with the Fleck 2510 control valve. Due to the general difficulty in backwashing iron system, we use the Fleck 2510 because it offers a stronger backwash. Than the Fleck 5600 seen on most Birm. In addition, by using a digital control instead of the mechanical control the cycle time is shortened, resulting in quicker backwash times with less water use!

System includes tank, riser tube, control head, media, and bypass valve. 6.8 - 9.0. Equal to 15% or more of total iron & manganese content. Typical Flow Rates (in GPM).

1.0 - 1.5. 0.8 - 3.0. 1.5 - 3.0.

2.0 - 5.0. 1.0 - 3.0. These are typical flow rates for the given fixtures, your actual flow rates may vary, and using water saving fixtures can reduce water requirements. The minimum rate (in gallons per minute) that needs to be available for proper backwashing of the system. This is not a constant rate, your water source just needs to be capable of supplying the shown rate for backwashing.

Using a system with less than the recommended backwash rate may be possible, however, doing so will decrease media life and will negate the 30-day satisfaction guarantee. (The warranties on the tank and control head will remain unaffected). The rate (in gallons per minute) at which the media can effectively treat your water. The rate given is the continuous rate at which the media can treat the maximum contaminate level.

Please note that most systems will allow a higher flow rate through them than the media can treat, so should your water demands exceed the systems capabilities some of the water will pass through untreated. Service flow rates are based on the manufacturers recommendation for maximum contaminate removal, lower contaminate levels. Be effectively treated at higher flow rates. Flow rates given are continuously treatable, higher flow rates. Be treated for short periods of time. Flow Rates (50psi Inlet) - Valve Alone. Electromechanical: 164 minutes SXT: 199 minutes per cycle. 0.25 - 15gpm +/- 5%. Standard: 125 - 2,125 Extended: 625 - 10,625 SXT: 1 - 999,900.

Height From Top of Tank. 6" - 16" diameter (limited by max injector size).

8" - 16" diameter based on 10GPM per ft. 24v, 110v, 220v - 50Hz, 60Hz.

Hydrostatic: 300psi Working: 20 - 125psi. Maximum flow rate shown is the maximum the valve is capable of, maximum service flow rates will vary depending on system type & size Standard setup is 110v - 60Hz, other setups may be available at an additional charge Specs shown are general specifications for the head and some specs may not be applicable, depending on system configuration. Backwash rates will vary depending on available flow rates and head configuration.

More efficient in terms of total backwash time and water consumed when compared to standard mechanical 2510. The item "Iron Buster 1 cu ft birm system Fleck 2510SXT Iron, Manganese Water Filter" is in sale since Friday, October 10, 2014.
